I'd rather argue with you than sit here clicking all day. 07:39:01 sh-linux-gnu-ld: foo: compiled for a little endian system and target is little endian <-- you could try explain that error msg to me 07:40:44 you got your word all screwed up:) 07:40:58 the byte order, that is 07:42:09 I can't see why. everything is compiled for little endian. 07:42:20 there could very well be an inconsistency in your make files, saying "use little endian" and then changing its mind prior to linking. 07:43:16 oh!!! there is no big indian, just two little indians. That's different. 07:46:06 exactly. 07:46:54 mabe, the endian-ity is just specified twice. So when the compiler sees the second one, it generates a template message "compiled for a [endianity] endian system and target is [second endianity]." without ever comparing the actual endianities. 07:49:19 hmm. might be. 07:50:59 it's a typical mistake to do by the compilerwrite - resulting in what seems to be trivial or inconsistant messages. 07:52:36 but that's all probably bull - so ignore 07:52:40 the odd part of it all is that the exact same makefile seems to work nicely for the i386 target, just not the sh4 target. I'm beginning to think there might be a defect in the binutils I've compiled up. 07:55:27 mabe the sh4 target is not thourouly specified, so that when testing the validity of assumptions about endianity, the test fails despite the fact that the endianities are equal. Mabe it has to do with memory allignment. Mabe something else makes the test fail. 07:58:04 I'm recompiling binutils 07:58:09 newer version 07:59:14 what's binutils? 08:00:39 as,ld,nm,objcopy,et 08:00:40 c 08:01:42 ok, but I have to fly 08:01:46 bye 08:01:49 [QUIT] thomas quit: Leaving 08:11:04 yo 08:17:31 Fare joined #tunes 08:17:41 hey Fare 08:17:52 got anything to discuss? 08:18:50 how to unblock me? 08:19:01 "unblock"? 08:19:09 oh! :) 08:19:10 get me to code 08:19:35 start writing psuedo code regularly? 08:19:36 my greatest chance at seducing the geekgirl seems to code Tunes, anyway 08:19:48 water: pseudocode might be a start 08:20:14 since i'm working in smalltalk, i use patterns and pseudo code 08:20:35 and i get very little time to code these days :/ 08:27:09 so now tunes is just an excuse to get laid? :P 08:29:04 the irony... 08:30:26 ) 08:30:31 anyway. 08:31:26 Fare: have you looked at libra? 08:31:58 abi: libra? 08:31:58 libra is a Lazy Interpreter of Binary Relational Algebra at http://www.cs.adelaide.edu.au/users/dwyer/TR95-10.html 08:32:35 it's relatively similar to some of the arrow ideas 08:36:35 [QUIT] JALH quit: Read error to JALH[m175-mp1-cvx3a.bre.ntl.com]: Connection reset by peer 08:44:25 ult joined #tunes 08:45:05 I've been told about carbonkernel.org 08:45:41 And also about CHARM, by some british (scottish?) team. 08:46:02 what's charm? 08:46:13 Fare, is it true that the French play "hot potato" with American mail? ;) 08:46:58 uh oh 08:47:04 don't start, ult :) 08:47:08 Hehehehe :) 08:47:28 [NICK] ult changed nick to: ult-lisp 08:49:33 hot potato? 08:49:41 american mail? 08:49:49 you mean, americans know how to read and write? 08:50:53 aren't they all rednecks who don't know the south from the north, and think Nicaragua has a common border with Vietnam? 08:51:55 that'd be the prevailing stereotype, yes 09:09:59 [QUIT] ult-lisp quit: dieing 09:19:32 despite that, we seem to have one of the highest literacy rates in the world, IIRC 09:25:40 I've heard that most illiteracy in the US was actually due to immigrancy. 09:25:53 i'd imagine so 09:30:05 [QUIT] MysticOne quit: Ping timeout for MysticOne[porpoise20.panama.gulf.net] 09:31:56 ult joined #tunes 10:10:06 smklsmkl joined #tunes 10:23:54 dmann joined #tunes 10:25:44 [QUIT] dmann quit: [BX] Whyismyspacebarnotworking?! 15:34:19 lmaxson joined #tunes 15:48:47 lmaxson left #tunes 16:02:44 Fare joined #tunes 19:12:27 ult joined #tunes 19:15:16 [QUIT] Melinda quit: So I bit him? 19:15:43 [QUIT] ult quit: Read error to ult[user-38lcdp3.dialup.mindspring.com]: Connection reset by peer 19:23:07 ult joined #tunes 20:57:05 lispbliss joined #tunes 21:05:09 [QUIT] masterseldon quit: [x]chat 21:20:41 [QUIT] Melinda quit: So I bit him? 21:33:16 lispbliss left #tunes 21:35:07 ult joined #tunes 21:37:55 [QUIT] ult quit: ircII EPIC4pre2 -- Accept no limitations 21:42:16 ult joined #tunes 21:42:26 Anyone know how the X spec specifies treatment for transient windows? 21:50:55 ult joined #tunes 23:12:40 hcf joined #tunes 23:12:43 abi: Var'aq is a stack-based RPN programming language for Klingons at http://www.geocities.com/connorbd/varaq/ 23:12:44 [QUIT] ink quit: INK is going down for re-boot... g'night! 23:12:54 hcf left #tunes 23:17:52 eihrul joined #tunes 00:10:34 hcf joined #tunes
