<Kor> enlightenment sound daemon... I havent looked at its source, but I think it buffers sound requests, and mixes sound channel, and makes a high level sound interface sosound programs can work with OSS or ALSA
<Kor> esd was originally just for Enlightenment(the window manager), but gnome started using it
